Well whatever you do, don't cut it thru the middle.
Looking at it, the places you could cut the body would be right behind the doors.
Then, keep the top in one peice, sliding it back on the trunk.
Use tape cut to the length you want to shorten it, and lay a strip on the side, and annother on the trunk.
You will have to make a cut on the body so that you can take up the slack, and keep things somewhat alligned.
Use normal model glue to put it back together, and a small peice of thin styrene behind the cut to re-inforce the area.
Squadron makes the best putty for model cars, and that's what I swear by.
It's not going to be instant. You will need to sand, prime and fill quite a few times to get it right- you don't want to rush it, or it'll look really bad.
