Starting to mod

i just got my first zipzap the other day along with the FF upgrade kit, and Its great and i love it but after seing all the pics and mods you guys have done here (especially latency, holy crap your cars are so freaking awesome) i want to start to mod my eclipse. I don't know where to start though, possible the antenna to get the best range and the controller antenna too, but any suggestions would be helpful.

thanks in advance

Heya GoOty

Careful man, these things are worse than crack!!

For some reason, I just can not leave well enough alone with these little things. There is always something I can do to them!!

Have to make them faster, and handle better! It is all about the road courses for me...not into drag racing them, just good ol' one v one road racing. I have even begun building my track. My wife thinks I am nuts, and I would agree with her.

I have tried the lexan bodies, but I would recommend staying away from them if you do table top racing. 3 or so good falls with my lexan bodies and I bent my rear axel on the Civic as the lexan body did not protect the wheels, it just bent. I was off to radio shack to buy another performance kit to replace the red axel. BUT, those cars SCOOT with the lexan body work...trade off really!

I also broke the steering on my supra. For some reason it would turn great one way, just not the other...well I decided to look into what the problem was, and decided I needed to shave some plastic off of the "center" steering magnet arms. Well, long story short, after 5 beers before working on the car, I snapped one of them off, and I tried glueing it, but I fubared it! So, tomorrow at Lunch, I am off to Radio Shack to buy my replacement 49mhz car. I have to buy a replacement, because that would only leave me with just a 27mhz car, and well, I have to be in EVERY race possible!!

I like the stock bodies, just not the weight. I have been practicing on some spare PT bodies that I had, and am working on shaving the inside of the cars to reduce weight.

My cars are getting pretty banged up from racing (and wrecking!) so they are not showroom quality any more!

I am still on the hunt for the perfect body, and I often walk the toy aisles looking for some cool matchbox or similar bodies that would work, just not found any yet.

thanks for the advice latency, i appreciate all the helpful hints
i have one question (for anyone) if you have modded your controller for your zipzap, I was thinking about ripping the two analog sticks off an old crappy PSX controller and using those, but I'd like to hear what kind of ideas you guys may have come up with to make the controls a little easier on the thumbs
