Motor Speculation
My buddy works at r-shack and of course all those guys have xmods, so now i want one. I already know im getting the Supra, and hes giving me the body kit and a stage 2, 11tooth, 30k rpm motor.
Now he said he had made his stage one (stock) motor really rip by doing some trick with a 9 volt battery on the motor while revving it, and then leaving a hard drive magnet stuck to it overnight? Something about it charges the copper coils?
Does this really work, and is it worth it to do it on this motor im getting? I plan to do weight reduction if i can, i wanna rip on these guys!

Fast car
Get the stage two and follow bad companies basic guide on settting up your x-mod. once you do that run with w/ 6 cell upgrade. You will kill everyone if you do that

Let him keep the Stage 2 11T motor. The stage 2 motors aren't much use with any gear above 9T, IMO. It takes a really torquey motor to give any kind of acceleration with the tall gearing, and the stage 2 isn't it.
As for what your friend told you, it is more likely that the motor being broken in has more to do with its performance than anything else. Leaving a hard drive magnet (Neodymium) might help increase the magnet power, but not by much i it does.

he has a few stage II motors, one is 8t i think....
I kinda get the theory behind the 9volt, burning the coils, but i dont think it would be worth it.
Ok heres the setup so far, i get my supra tomorrow. Hes installing the motor (now i need advice on which stage two i want guys!), the body kit with the "aluminum" style wing cuz i like that one lol. And i am getting the battery kit, thats basically it. I'm going to, myself because he doesnt know about this site, add the soda bottle skid plate, shave the chassis for more travel, get rid of anything i dont need to save a tiny bit of weight, and see what i can do with the motor.
He said hes going to setup the gears for me and install everything since i dont rlly know anything about them, but im going to go over everything to make sure hes not trying to give his car and edge lol.
EDIT: After reading around i am also going to add the fifth cell, is there a tutorial or list of needed parts somewhere for that?

Stage 2 drag is the way to go. The "road race" and "top speed" motors are unusable, IMO.

What ?
What do you mean the Road Race and Top Speed motors are unuseable? I was going to put Top Speed in today so I can see how fast she is outside tonight .
