question for xmod owners.

thinking about picking one of these up, but a major factor in my decision is if it will be possible to put larger tires on and somehow lock both diffs. when i say larger i mean overland size tires, how do the xmods wheels fit on the axles? i assume i could fill the diffs with superglue to lock them. also, does it look like theres any way to jack up the susp at all? thanks for any help with these questions. pavel.

The xmod axles have a flat ground into the face, this flat matches the hole in the rims. They are not like Kyosho style rims. I'll take a look tonight and see what the differences in the specs are.

thanks damzer, i'm really wanting to try and make a 4wd overland type truck and i thought it might be easier to mod one of these rather than scratchbuiding one.

Another question:

how smooth running is the car stock? do the gears bind and slow the car down when the gas is off? does it make a lot of noise while driving?

thanks...i'm considering buying one but i wanna know how well they did on them.

noise

my supra is pretty loud stock, but it isnt because of stuff binding. When you barely put on the gas, the car wont move but the motor will try. It wont go because u arent giving it enough gas, but the motor makes weird electrical noises, kinda like a dial up mode i guess but not as bad. I wouldnt not buy one because of the noise. thats crazy in itself. Its an awesome car, and u should get the lights because they are tyte.

hey cowfish, i forgot to tell u how well made it was. It seems really well made. after the body is assembled, it feels very sturdy. the chassis is very well built, and is ready to go out of the box after u put the weels on. Also, to anyone that is just assembling theirs, it felt like i was cross threading every screw on the body and every nut on the wheels. dotn worry about it. the second time, it works better. they probably designed it to be that way.

the cross-threading feeling is probably just you making the threads bigger for the screw. or they might have only threaded only a little bit of the hole.
just a thought.
