Mach5 Wheels: Can they be replaced?

I own a new Speed Racer Set and i like to know whether or not the "wider wheels " can be replaced with "normal" ( i.e. spec 2) wheels?

Also...are there any OFFICIAL bodies ( Epoch bodies) that can fit the Mach5 chassis? I dont mind customizing a body from a local toy store but im curious as to whether any can be bought that dont need modification?

Also...what do the clone indoor racers look like? Are they proportional and simply of lesser quality or are they completely different altogether?

Yep. Underneath those wide tires are plain old Epoch rims which fit Epoch tires quite nicely.

As for bodies, best I've found to date are the New Bright 4xFours (muscle cars and SUVs) sold at TRU. There are also a few AMT 1:43 scale models that will work as well (eBay).

Some of the larger S2 Epoch bodies will work but you will have to modify the wheel wells and move the tabs I beleive.

Sorry i need a bit more clarification. These Speed Racer rims...under the wide tires ( i.e. once you remove them) is the standard Spec 1 rim ...at which point you can place nrmal tires on it and have a proportional speed racer car (spec 1 style)?

Please help lol......im desperate man.

Thanks again Maark...btw....i just saw you over at the OTHER site lol. Looks like your trying to stay up on all the Epoch news also.

Ok so regular rims are under there. Great. I take it ou have a Speed Racer set ( or perhaps Spec 1)? IF so can you direct me to some of the threads you have read that have been helpful ( ive probably read them but who knows). At this point i plan on junking the speed bodies and grabbing a Spec to body to modify.

Yeah, I have a Spec1 Speed Racer set and and Spec2. You can fit the larger Spec2 bodies onto your Spec1 with some modification. You can also check out these NewBright bodies that have been working out so well for people.

I don't know of any specific threads that have been helpful - many have been. The Epoch boards are pretty light, so what I've done is just gone through every single topic reading all I can.

Good luck

Hey Maark i e-mailed you with ONE more redundant question in regard to the rim . Please be paitient lol
I feel like a newb all over again but this questio wasnt CLEARLY expounded upon in the Epoch threads here or THERE. Would you say $55 shipped is fair for a Speed Set?

Why don't you just buy my lightly used one for only $40 instead. Everything is there - no damage and works like new. Still have the box and all the packaging as well.

Let me know
