Lowering your bit?

I've read that some people lower their bits by removing the white bar thing above the steering part of the car. But if the body snaps into the chassis how does this lower the bit?

How much can you lower the bit and still not have to shave the chasis?? Thanks!

the wheels go up higher which makes the car lower
you can lower a body untill it almost touches the ground but it depends on the body my gloria can go as low as you want with now rub
