Hey in the 10 lap race, what's up with the white Lancer? I would have disqualified that car several times over in that race. Props to the other white car(the slow one). At least it stayed on the track (the super S turn was nice). Actually I'm not harping on you, that race was tons of fun, man. But what's the point of putting a curve in the track if you don't turn? I'd rather practice the skills, and put a slower motor in it. I hate saying all that like I am the Bit Skill god, but I really appreciate my slower motors now that I have actually built and raced on tracks. Sure I can put my Phatty motor in my 3cell Zap, and just hammer the whole thing and not stay on the road, but that's no fun, is it?

I hope you have a spare room in that house. You can't show us something like that and not expect us all to visit.

re: barriers and shortcuts
Regarding the question about the white lancer and taking shortcuts -- when I build the track, I sometimes build in shortcuts that can be taken, like the little red barriers in the 10 lap race from March 21. Before the race, we discuss whether the shortcuts are legal or not, as well as any penalties. Some races, I build tracks that are straight (i.e. noplace where you can choose a path or deviate from the main track), but some races, I include ramps, shortcuts, or alternate track choices, to give us more variety. For ramps, you probably have to go with a power gear setup to get over them, while with a speed gear setup, you might get more speed and win by going through the curves. It gives a bit more variety for some races, to see who sets up their car correctly for their choices. It also makes the ending laps a bit more exciting, if someone is less than half a lap behind, they might try a shortcut to get ahead at the last moment.
So, the white car in the race you commented on was perfectly legal. We had discussed that very tactic before the race.
I'm posting some more videos with shortcuts n stuff later, so check them out.

Well, keep 'em coming. I haven't had that much fun watching vid's in a long time. You guy's should be on micro ESPN (espn) .
I guess if you make the short cuts legal, then why the heck not take 'em, eh? Fun.
Sumo's are pretty creative.
Here's a track I made this evening.

Stridex,
Our micro racing group is actually part of a large group of friends that have been getting together since about 1982 for various games (RPG's, Card Games, etc.). One of our members suggested micro racing last fall, and we've added it to the list of things we enjoy. Our micro racing site is in reality a part of our larger site, about our general activities:
Our Gaming Group
so, to answer your question specifically, yes, almost all of our racers were good friends before we started micro racing. There are one or perhaps two of our group who have joined up with us since we started racing, but they knew one or the other of our members beforehand anyway.
