Dual Cell Improvement?

Well I did the dual cell mode (info @ http://foy.foy.com/minircmod/moddocs...attinstruc.htm) very nicely written . Now I did use 2 batteries from a clone, so that may have made a difference, but as far as I can tell there was no real improvement, are the perfection 3.8's not good for this kind of mod? or did I do it wrong. I followed the instruckins word for wod, but one never knows. maybe I am expecting to much from these little buggers..

You probably switched one of the batteries around. You want the batteries in series and not parallel. The wires in your is probably positive to positive and negative to negative. What you want is positive to negative to positive to negative. That is series.

Is the insulator to keep the negative end of the first battery from touching the contact there? That is necessary. Even the smallest amount of it touching the metal contact can make it run at normal speed.

ok Just thought I would give out the update on this dual cell mod, and what I used and yadda yadda yadda. Well first I started with an R/C Chassis(some clone I found in the mall, didn't want to hack up my bit (yet)). it has some steering issues, like all the sudden it will turn to the right and no matter how much I trim it still pulls to the right, I recentered the magnent still no go... but anyways it was a good test car, so I got it all done, it wheelies, flips over and generaly has no control(that part hasn't changed)it's got a 2.6 in it and clone gears so I don't know the ratio. I hope my bit with a perfection 3.8 has better control.
