Painting

Can anyone show me what a clear bit body looks like painted from the inside? Does it look good? When I sprayed a Civic on the outside it looked like crap & lost a lot of detail.

painting from the inside only works on lexan/polycarbonate bodys. resin bodys are too thick and thus they refract the light(color) therefor it looks kinda poopy. AUDI-TT hit the nail on the head, light even coats.. and make sure you clean your body good befor you start to paint.. some primer may also be used to help the paint to stick. what color are you painting, and what kinda paint are you using?

i agree but....i painted 2 clear skylines both on the inside....one i painted
insignia yellow on the inside, then i painted the hood, wing and all the lights
black on the outside...the other i painted with a glow in the dark paint
on the inside, again black hood, lights, wing on the outside with gtR stickers...
and when painted on inside you can see the lines of the car better....but i dont know
you might like it .....you might not.....wish i had a cam to show you i think i will by one
friday by the way i used modelmaster acrylic paints..

but i think they both look BADA$$

P.S. spanky are the bus bodies ready for sale

for paint? I'd suggest an airbrush. You can get a decent setup for less than 30 bucks. it coats oh so nice.

kind of like misting paint on rather than spraying... (sort of) though you can still cake it on there if you're not careful (runs)

I always thought I would want to paint from the inside as well, after much discussion and debate, I changed my stance for several reasons. I believe the best route is painting from the outside, you get more detail and the car doesn't look like it has a 1 foot thick clear coat, looks weird painted from the inside.

Anyways, just my two cents on that, here's a few articles on painting, hopefully they'll help ya.
