Dual battery mod will burn out motor?

I was just wondering, I just did a dual battery mod and I am afraid that the high voltage may burn out the motor, is this possible?

Not likely. The 2.4v you're going to be running isn't exactly high-voltage. The circuitry is easily safe up to 9v and the motors will take just about anything you can give them as long as you keep them cool enough.

Is there anything you can do to keep the motor cooler?

I just recently burned out my old Tomy 3.0 motor. It was already squeaking before the 2 cell mod, but the dual mod put the motor out of it's misery.

Did your motor burn to death? My 3.0 gets pretty warm with only 1.5 volts from an "AA".

Hey, in the winter the temperature outside could drop well below freezing, where I live, anyway. I'm sure 9 volts couldn't burn out a motor then. If I'm not mistaken in thinking voltage is directly proportional to speed, a 4.0 motor with a 9 volt would be like a 30.0!

Running a motor with no load can burn it out and make it heat up more than loads it was designed to bear.
Under those loads the RPMs are lower and heat doesn't build up as fast.

it's not the motor that u should worry about. it's the battery itself. if anything in the curiuit goes wrong, the battery will start to fry and get really hot. they might even explode.
