Softer rear tires or Softer front end strut bar.

Yeah the Tomy Bit Char-g Color Tire Set GS-07 really makes a huge difference. Plently of GS-07 at eBay:

yep, with a 3.8 on a smooth surface, its most likey gonna spin out and do donuts whatever you do, regardless of the tires. Thats the price you pay for speed. With faster motors, gathering speed THEN turning instead of turning and accelerating at the same time reduces donut-ness. And yes, using rougher surfaces like unfinished plywood and stuff like that help a lot.

dont have a 3.8(yet), but i find that it helps to clean my tires regularly. they seem to pick up dirt pretty quickly(might make more sense to clean the floor, but theres no time for that, only racing...).

the color tires are really nice. the soft red tires on the back with the blue hard tires on the front works great on hardwood floors.

To keep the car from spinning, use the softest tires on the back for superior grip to prevent the car from burnouts and fishtails. If the engine has too much torque or the car is going to fast, induce understeer by using harder tires on front. This will prevent the car from spinning and reduce chances of flipping when turning at high speed. With the 2nd hardest tires from the bit racer tire set on my front tires of my dual turbo car, my car doesnt turn as much, but its enough to prevent spins and flips. Only when I use boost does it flip, so I save the boost for straightaways.

Best way to avoid spinouts? Lay off the throttle on a turn! Take your finger off the gas a little before the turn, make the turn, and back on the gas! You'll have enough momentum to carry you through the turn.

Funny that you bring up momentum. My MS dosen't seem to coast at all when I lay off the throttle. Should I be expecting some length of coasting distance? I need to keep on the throttle all the time or I won't make it through the turn.

depends, with faster motors (2.6 and up) you should be able to coast a couple of inches, to a couple of feet. If your gears bind more than they should (i.e. car screetches to a halt once you lay off the accelerator) try some different motor positions, or try that one QFM mod with the micro screws positioning the motor so it does not bind.

Once you can coast a little, this might work-
accelerate into the turn, and a bout 1/2 way to 3/4 the way through, let go and turn till the car makes it all the way facing the upcoming straightaway in the track. Then, accelerate straight down it, not turning again till you reach near top speed (as to not spin out)

This is what i do on my hardwood floors, but on other surfaces like foam core board and grippy stuff it does not seem to matter much at all. Just try it till you get what you want.

well...if you want sharper turns, put harder in the back and slightly softer in the front. I can't imagine why you would need to do this though.. my car rolls over if i use a 3.0 and soft char-g tires on back and front. Whatever works though.

If you can't get the colored tires, or want a soft black tires that are cheap, buy the Zip Zap tire / hubcap set for $4.99 at Radio Shack. All the tires are softer than the stock tires and they're all black with different tread designs. They only fit the rear wheels of the bits, but I've tried all the different treads and left the fronts with the stock tires. The result, much improved traction.
