3.8 motor
How much torque does a 3.8 have? From the forums I've read, it sounds like it barely has any at all. How is the torque compared to a 3.0 and what's the distance a 3.8 needs to get to top speed?

yeah the 3.8 doesn't have a whole lot. Barely any. And I'd say it needs around 2 to 4 feet to get up to full speed so it's for long drag racing (it doesn't relaly have the torque to power through turns). And I don't have a 3.0 to compare with but if you want equivalent top speed with more torque go with the r-spec sold here on Tinyrc.com. I have both the 3.8 and the r-spec and my r-spec blows the doors off the 3.8 in all respects. I highly recommend getting one!
PS - and from what I've heard the 3.0 doesn't have a lot of torque either because it was not designed for the Microsizers/BCGs, it was designed for the Bit Racers instead.

I already won on Ebay on a 3.8 so no more r-spec for now. I have a 3.0 and it doesn't have a lot of torque. How is it's torque compared to a 3.8? Does the 3.8 have such little torque that it can't even get the car moving and that you have to nudge it? I know that some 3.0's are like that, but mine works perfectly fine. Is the 3.8 a big motor like ZipZaps one or is it small like the Bit Racer ones?

No it's not so little that you have to nudge it to get it going but, for example, it won't run on carpet and again it is slow accelerating. As far as compared to the 3.0, again I don't have one so I can't compare...maybe somebody else can help you with that...and as far as size goes, it's the same size as all other microsizer engines.

I'll assume it's like a 3.0 because it also cannot run on carpet and it takes about 2 feet to accelerate to top speed with the fast gearing on. If it's like that, then I'm happy.

Is a 3.8 faster than dual cell with an x motor?

hmmm...hard to say. The 3.8 and r-spec are the fastest motors available that I know of. But as to which would be faster in a dual cell mod I'm not sure. Either wouldn't definitely be faster than any other motor available (that I know of).

i dont have an r-spec, but i do have a 3.8 and a 3.0 and i actually prefer the 3.0 the 3.8 is weak in terms of torque, hopefully my v2 darkside rotor 3.4 will prove to be a killer as its reputation is said to be
