Motor Upgrages

Hey I'm kinda new to micro rc and I want to upgrade my motor
Is it totally safe for the car?
I was thinking of a 3 motor is that hard to handle with or would a 2.6 be better. also do you have to change the gearing ?
I have a precious bit char A and it came with all green gears an a motor with a baby blue back it goes pretty fast as is but I like speed.

go with a Bit Racer 3.0 motor and blue gears. The 3.0 is fast, and the blue gears help torque.
