PCB-reached max voltage
I just wanted to post my findings of the volts run through my pcb on my zipzap. The original pcb has actually been swapped out with a fitracer clone pcb. But I hope others can post their what the max was with their pcb here.
I actually had originally tried to do a 7.2 6 cell mod but the car would not respond to the controller. When I took off one of the batteries making the volts 6.0 the car responded again. When I have to charge the batteries I use 6 alk. batterys for a total of 9 volts. So when it charging the car does not respond to the remove. I look like that fitracer pcb has a cut off of 6 volts to prevent damage. I guess in order to bypass the 6 volts you will need a relay. If anyone knows of a relay this small please let me know.
The way I was able to fit 5 batteries into the care was through using the batteries from the "Layman's battery mod". The car is super fast but only runs for a 1 minute 30 sec.

I burnt the forward out in a fit racer with a 9 volt, but don't worry it's been resurrected.

Thats a cool looking dragster. I saw it in a forum the other day. From what I read it a 3 cell right? Really 9 volts for a fit racer. Mine just shut off at 7.2volts. Have you post a video of you dragster yet. I had made a 4 cell (1/4 aaa) mod to a zipzap and found that the 5 cell with the smaller watch batteries was much faster. I think because of less weight and it was easier on the motor. Have you thought of trying smaller batteries in your dragster to make it faster.

It's a 4 cell, and no videos yet. Yea I've thought about using the button cells, but I really don't have anybody to race so I'm not to worried about the weight. And with a 9 volt the fit racer screamed, it looked like I shot it out of gun, then it died.

I was looking around the forum and found this link http://www.geocities.com/wdiaz03/minidragster.html . I havent spoken to this person but seems like he really knows his stuff. He has bypassed the pcb to push more volts to the motor directly using a transistor.

yea I've seen that, it's pretty amazing, that's kinda how they do some of the 1/10th scale dragsters.

Very Intersesting!!!!!!!!!
I have a 4 cell battery pack built for my Dragster project (I'm using a ZZ PCB ), but I just might add another cell for giggles!
I do have a transistor/resistor just in case, just like that websirte suggests.
