steering play mod

my ms has tons of play in the steering. from steering arm to lower and upper knuckle holder thingies. i remember seeing pics and instructions for a mod where someone made a aluminum sleeve for the knuckle. they just drilled out the holes a little and everything fit like a glove. it sounded pretty simple however i want as much info on it as possible before i chop up my ms. i have been searching for this thread for more than an hour with no luck. i'm sure someone knows where it's at. and i would be very thankfull if someone pointed me in the right direction.

thanks,
rabbitsperm

Find a snug fitting metal tube, and drill out your knuckle mounting holes very gradually until you get a snug fit. Its pretty self explanatory.

Yeah, drilling out the holes is simple, just be sure do get it straight. Aluminum was hard to find in the right size, so i used brass. Either works as they are both non-magnetic. The main problem though is the fact that the posts on the knuckles aren't really round. They tend to have flashing left on them and are not very precise. The best way to overcome this is to make custom knucles out of brass (or aluminum) or replace the plastic posts on your existing knuckles with brass ones. It's kinda hard to do because it is so small, but the steering play will be dramatically reduced.

i blocked my steering ( so it runs straight) by simply taking some rare earth magnets and putting one magnet on each side of the existing magnet, that filled in the space..
