ok heres the deal...
a) you either lost your steering spring while assebling it back together
b) you assembled it incorrectly

open your steering cover back up...and chek to see if the metal spring is still there....
it is is, then your problem is B
when u dissasemble the steering, the magnet gets loose, as does the steering spring....
the bottom of the magnet has 3 pegs ...when placing them back into your car they must be vertially aligned.....
the top peg should be IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STEERING SPRING
the middle peg should go in the large hole at the end of the steering spring loop
and the last hole should go in the steering arm...uh white part thingy im not sure what its called

anyways, try that, if not then u have to realign your magnet

steering issue

i had this same issue after i modded my car, i had to pull the front end off again. when you take the front cover off and look at the underside you'll see the imprint of the magnet, "the little circle guide for the magnet to rest in", any way what i did was take a drill to it and widen it out, the when i reassembled it made sure my wires that go to the magnet where no being snagged under the circuit board, they need some slack. after that i moved the wheels back and forth by hand to make sure it didn't get caught up on anything.

this seem to work my steering no longer gets stuck..

doooode
chek to make SUUUURE that you have the peg in between the spring...dont put i on top, or make it cross over....
u also have to realign your magnet every time u take it apart..
to do this,
after you place your spring and magnet peg thingy correctly, you have to turn your magnet in place until u see it slightly move the spring to one side, when it snaps back press your controller to see if it is turning in the right direction......if not, keep turning your magnet in the same direction untill it snaps back again..it should work.

MTL the part you describe as the magnet is not the magnet it is the steering motor/ Rotor that turns the car.The Magnet is the Ring. What might be the problem is you need to make sure the slot on the bottom of the ring magnet is sitting on top of the White steering adjustment peg. Then you will have the correct poliarty so the steering rotor will steer the car.MTL did describe the correct assembly of the steering. He is just little mixed up on what each part is called.Check out Tinracers.com in the dowload section and download the comprehensive manual and it will show you the correct way to work on your car with lots of photos.
