Lightbulb Police light idea

Since many people wanted to make a police light mod, I came up with an idea. you could wire a 3mm flashing red LED and a plain 3mm blue LED in series. They would flash at the same time, but it's a start.

ok here is a way that you could make flashing lights that alternate (Blue light is on red is off then they change red is on and blue is off) this site explanes everything. there is a way to do it with a 555 timer and a way to do it with two transistors both being very cheap at RS.
I found all the schimatics (sp??) here.
http://www.discovercircuits.com

(lots of LED diagrams)
http://www.discovercircuits.com/L/LED.htm

or more specificly
(the transistor one)
http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/flash2.htm

(the 555 timer one runs on 12V but i am sure you could change that with little electrical knowlege)

Have Fun

Okay, i could probably try those. My way was kind of like an LED-resistor-battery idea.

I just ordered the Micro Q police car and now I've started looking at ways to get the lights to blink alternately.

The link KingofJapan offered looks the most promising, but it's in Japanese and Babelfish turns this page into english mumbo-jumbo.

If someone could explain the diagram, then I would be willing to try it out.

If I find out something I'll share it here...

I found this site explaining alternate blinking LEDs that run on a 3v battery.

http://space.tin.it/scienza/fladelle/Page14.htm

This site has links to a number of LED diagrams

http://discovercircuits.com/L/LED.htm

I got my Police car and Fire truck today. Monday I'm heading to Radio Shack to see if they have these parts. I'm going to work on the Fire Truck first since it has more space in the body.
