mod for anyone with rear axles coming off to to wear and tear

after pulling off the rear axle probably 100 times, the plastic gets worn and the axle doesnt stay in place, which causes the gears not to touch, so heres what i did, i cut a very small piece of foam of some spare pieces i had from a tire set, pushed it into the axle recess on the side where its popping off, make sure its pushed in there far enough to touch axle but not so far that it binds it and wont turn, i used a small flat head screwdriver to wedge it in there, then i dropped a small bit of super glue on top of the foam to keep it in place, make sure you dont drop the glue on the actual axle or it wont turn at all, i held the foam down onto the axle with the same screwdriver while the glue cured, and it works perfect, its kind of a permanent fix, but with the setup i have in this rocket i dont need to ever remove that axle again, but if i did i could just cut away the foam, hope this helps someone!

tiny, i just got a new computer and havent gotten my scanner hooked up yet, i tested the car and it works great, and its a 3 cell zip with clone pcb, very fast, so i know this would work for any car if it holds together on my rocket zip.

I ran into a different, but similar problem. My car was accidentally stepped on, and one of the indentations that holds in the rear axle broke off. I used part of a round toothpick trimmed on the edges, to hold it in. Attached is a (lousy) picture...

thanks!
I was really surprised when the toothpick "snapped" in, almost if it were meant for that exact purpose. I used "Diamond" brand round toothpicks, cut down, and trimmed to a V shape at the ends, so they would fit in the slots for the axle.

I had worn axle mountings!

I fixed mine by using modelling epoxy putty.

1. I took the axle out
2. Put the putty( epoxy putty I used Milliput) at both
sides where the axle clips in.
3. Get a sewing needle and push a hole through the
original axle hole, Allowing enough room for the
axle to move freely.
4. Let the putty dry.
5. Cut a THIN SLOT for the axle to slide though.
6. Put ur axle in!

7. Done!
