why is the Activ Road Racer 1:24 so expensive? with electronics in it it will cost more than a micro rs4. What makes this car so special? And will there be a rtr version of this car or the 1/24 WWS pro? I am good with changing parts in the cars but assembling and putting in electronics is a little diffrent. I have a Mini-X, Rocket Racer, and a Micro RS4 all ready to run except Mini-X (I needed a controller). Is it common for people to switch elecronics between cars or should all cars have there own? ESC's and servos are expensive.
The Aktiv car is more money because of the aluminum construction and the fact that it comes with full ball bearings and a 180 motor. If you were to view one up close you would be amazed at how low the price really is. A good 1/24 car kit like the ABC is less money but you still need to add bearings and a 180 motor. By the time you add these items along with a few aluminum hop ups you will have spent more than the Aktiv price. I have had a few customers purchase the Aktiv car and the hitec HS 55 servo and then use the TX/ESC and radio from there Rocket Racer. This is a good way to go and it is very easy to swap the electronics.
The WWS PRO 1/24 will be less money than the Aktiv (Around $95) but the car still requires assembley. It will have a 180 motor and foam tires but ball bearings and an aluminum motor mounts will be optional. You could also install all the electronics from your rocket racer in it.
