Even MORE cheap bodies found

I had some time to kill after work so I stopped by Big lots again. WOW! They had all kinds of new sets with bodies that are perfect for ZZs. I ended up getting 12 bodies for $3. Of those,
5 will fit on a ZZ with very little work:
Police car
Porsche
Ambulance (van)
Ambulance (big one)
Hummer

4 will fit with a little more work:
Limo
Tow Truck
2 bottom vehicles in the military pack (they each have 4 wheels in the back)

3 won't work without a LOT of work (too much for me to try):
Red emergency vehicle (SUV)
Fire Truck
2nd military truck

They all will need to be painted, but they have some good detail and are nice and light. Even if I only end up modding the 5 easy ones, that makes them $0.60 each Oh, I guess you want to see pictures, huh? Take a look: http://www.thebrokenjoystick.com/pictures/morebiglots
All the pics are with very little to zero modding - I just took some pics of them on/near the chassis so you could see how close they are out of the box.

I really want to do the limo - I might work on that this weekend. Paint it black, put a little detailing on it...should be cool. I thought maybe I'd make the police car: http://www.thebrokenjoystick.com/pic...biglots/police
into a yellow NY taxicab like this:

The other thing I got was a school bus for $2:

The width is perfect, but unfortunately, the distance between the front and back wheels is fairly large. I'm not sure how to approach this. I do not want to modify my ZZ chassis. I thought about cutting the bus down to make it shorter (make it a "short bus ") but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

The bus also came with a bunch of extra stuff including a schoolhouse which can be seen here:

Just for fun, I thought about doing something like ToddC did and put a bunch of pimped out cars in front of it with my Homies and take a picture. Ahhhh....high school

The other thing I got was the Bug Bomb for $0.99:

The body is made of metal so it's too heavy, but the tires are made of rubber and I figured there would be some parts I could use. I should be able to use the engine for my JL Baja Bug:

Anyway, I spent $6 and got 12 bodies, a school bus with lots of extras, and a monster VW bug. Not bad. They had TONS of these so if anyone is dying to have any of these and can't find a BigLots near you, drop me a line and I can get some for you. I have done this for a 3-4 people here already. Good work brian, I'm gonna try biglots first chance I get!

As for the bus I would get a $9.99 Walgreens Clone and extend it's chassis. The clones work with the Zip controller, and you can easily swap the front and back wheels with ZZ wheels so you can swap hubcaps.
The motor on the clone has wires so all you'll have to do is extend the wires on it. as for the gears 4:1, slow taking off, so the first thing I did was to custom fit zip gears on it. not hard!

the clones I'm refering to are called MicroZ-xr1

Good luck and keep it up!
