Cool My Frankenstein Controller (5-Band)

Meet Frankenstein.

I bought a PCB & switch assy from Radio Shack and wired the crystals onto the board with the switch.

I had to tear apart controllers by Hobbico, LXX, Shen, Fit Racer and Panther to get the parts for this monster.

The Front and Rear Covers are from my LXX Controller.
The Buttons, Main PCB, Charger Plate 2 crystals and Charger Cover are from 2 Hobbico Controllers.
Shen, Fit and Panther provided the other three crystals in this controller.

I only need a 40mhz car and crystal to make Frankenstein complete.

Please tell me what you think about this project.

All five bands work individually.
I did try to run with more than one turned on but nothing worked then. I don't think enough power went through the crystals to run more than one channel at a time.
But since I only plan to run one channel at a time it's great.

It would be cheaper to buy the Tomy 4 band and modify that to 5 or 6 bands than to have somebody make this one. You need to have at least one Tomy Style Controller, 4 other controllers to get the Crystals, 1 Telescopic antenna (the one on this controller cost about 6 bucks at RS) as well as a mini PCB and switch assy.

I have the covers, Main PCB and mini pcb to make another but the crystals are the main problem. Having to tear apart the controllers to get the crystals and then wire and fit everything in place is time consuming.
