Question one more question

can someone tell me a little bit about the 4 band radio... I've read that the cars don't receive as much of a signal due to the smaller antenna. If this is the situation, can you replace the antenna with any old antenna, for I do not have an old remote to take the antenna from. Or is this all not true. What are the goods and bads about the 4 way. Thanks

Yes, you can replace it with a proper RC antenna; someone posted a pic of their conversion, have a Search and you should be able to find it.

I found the 4-band controller be be generally better than the single-bands.

It fits better in the hand, control is easier, and the antenna issue (which holds true for ALL controllers) is easily rectified.
