R-Spec Motor Review

Ok, im new, so dont go blasting me if somone has already done this.

Anyways.. I got a clone that came stock with a 1.0 motor, and uhhh.. some kinda gears.. anways.. the stock motor was prety good, considering i play with this thing all day on carpet outside my cube (im at work now) the stock motor would pop wheelies and generally be fun to drive. I wanted more speed, and was going to go for a 3.8 for the straightaways between cubes. but i was concerned about not enough torque for the carpet. so i ordered the r-spec. the first run i took with the new motor was amazing, i did it at home on a hard floor, it had a slower start, but within 2 feet it was going full tilt and i turned left the and promptly jammed it under the fridge. tried again, this time not turning into any low slung appliances and flipped my poor little car and bent my antenna, and promptly screwed up my stearing, curses, i collected enough metal flakes to make me spend the rest of the night cleaning the undercarrage. next day at work..
gave my little beast a double charge and let it rip.. i covered more ground than i ever thought i could with this thing, couldnt pop no wheelies tho, not enough torque for that.. but its fast as hell, easy to flip as well. so, in my oppinion, if your looking for a new motor, and dont mind a loss in torque, go for this one.

on a side note, the motor was shipped promptly and i recieved it within 2 weeks, eventhough i live in canada..

Cool, thanks for the review MiZer. I'm wondering something though...

...the advantage of the r-spec is the fact that it has Great Speed and Torque. How many times have you run it so far?

yeah...i'd rather have someone test this in a bit or MS chassis.

Not to be rude, but i'd also rather have a seasoned forum user do this. With various cars and comparisons to many KNOWN motors.

Thanks for the review! Your input is appreciated.
I've been looking to get an aftermarket motor for my "Mach 5" Bit, and the R-Spec is looking better and better.

I'd like to compare it to a 3.5 from bitmod1.com. Might buy one...

There are a number of other reviews about this motor in the R-Spec motor thread.

This is just one review of many that are out there.

Thanks for the review MiZer; I'm surprised about the torque comment, as the R-Spec was bred to have better torque than other high-end motors. I guess it's because you were comparing to a 1.0 - if you compare to a 3.8 you'll find it has a ton more torque!
