timed charger
hey everyone,
i'm new to this mini r/c thing so i decided to spend a lot of time reading this forum...which is dope by the way.
anyway, i took a look at the transmitter schematic and read somewhere that the right part is the charger part. Has anyone tried to make a timed charger using this schematic. i have some generic npn and pnp transistors and was thinking about building it. any ee's out there (and i know you are) know if this is alright, or do i need those specific transistors. i looked on the web but those transistors are japanese based and it was hard for me to find any of them. anyway, just a thought.

It is timed by default. If you hotwire the charger to three volts, it loses its timer. Is that what you mean?

i wanted to make a stand-alone charger that has a timing function, so i don't have to manually time it. but i think i'm going to give up on this project. don't really have time. maybe when vacation starts. thanks for the reply though.

I was thinking of making a timer with a 555 timer and a decade counter.
It's been so long since I have built circuits like that though.
I wanted to make a circuit that I could start and it would count down a specified amount of time, 90 seconds for example, then lite an LED to let me know it's done. I would then intigrate it into a project box that contains the power source and charging base.

hmmm, a 555 timer would be even better. you could put it in "one-shot" operation. i'll have to try that.
