Controller question

Now that my car is running I was curious about the charger/ controller unit. The standard unit is decent but clunky with the push button controls. It's tough to get smooth turns with it. Does anyone know if there are such upgradable units with more realistic/ user friendly RC control options?

The 4 channel is much nicer, but it's more like a game controller than an RC controller still.
