stevensmd3,

The 3.8 will fit in a Zip Zap fine. The problem is that the Zip Zap doesn't supply the 3.8 motor with enough current to make it run properly. 3.8s are high speed/low torque motors that require alittle more current to get moving from a dead stop. You will need to modify your Zip Zap with a dual battery mod, or you'll need to do the No Reverse mod by cutting the yellow wire from the circuit board, stripping the end, and placing it where it will contact the positive end battery terminal. Either of these 2 modifications will get the 3.8 moving. I've done both of them, and the No Reverse mod is the easiest.

stevensmd3,

It's really not that hard. All you need is a pair of finger nail clippers. 1. Open up the car's chassis and find the Yellow wire 2. Cut the Yellow wire off as close to the circuit board as you can 3. Strip the Yellow covering off of the end exposing about 1 cm of bare wire 4. Remove the battery making sure to note which end is the positive and which is the negative 5. Place the bare end of the yellow wire between the metal positive terminal and the cars chassis 6. replace the battery making sure that the yellow wire is pinched and is making a connection with the metal positive terminal 7. Put everything back together and go blow your friends away.

microsizer,

No, you don't have to solder the wire. You just want to make sure it is held tightly between the positive terminal and the chassis wall.

Question about No Reverse

I have a question about the No Reverse mod. This might seem like a stupid question to you guys, but do you actually lose the ability to go in Reverse? Cuz i like going backwards!
