Track slip problems
I'm having annoying problems with the panther and the sherman. The drive-wheel on both of those are smaller then the russian and the tiger. That leads to slipping between the track and the drive-wheel. Especially my sherman. The track on one side is too big a circle and so on super-turns the track slowly comes off.
Anyone have any ideas??
If nobody else has a better idea, I think I'm going to try the second to last mod on this page:
http://www.geocities.jp/s_lx60/cd/make.html
It shows someone modifying the drive wheels for more grip by glueing little spurs to it. Thanks, Jay

Jay, I had the same problem on my T34. Check out this Post:
http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread....&threadid=3235
I was trying to stop the slipping of the tracks and tried heat shrink, the foam rubber donut and here is what worked. I painted a rubberized roof coating on the drive wheel. It's a black, gritty kinda substance and it's water based so it is plastic safe. It's called Recycled Rubber Roofing. I originally bought it for making a track for my Bits. I has a look of asphalt when it dries. It didn't work well for the Bit race track because it was too lumply. It did work on my tank after I thinned it out with some water. I am thinking about trying some of that rubber\plastic coating called Plasti-Dip. (plastidip.com)
Here is a crappy pic of my drive wheel.

Those are excellent ideas. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks, Jay

I bought it at a home improvement center call Menard's. I think they are only here in the Midwest, but I'm sure you can find this product or a similar one at Lowe's or Home Depot. It's called Recycled Rubber Roofing made by Specification Chemicals, Inc. The smallest size it came in was 55 ounces and it cost $10.
Let me see if I can find some small containers and maybe I could mail you some for a few bucks and save you some $$$

A temporary fix I did was to switch the drive wheels out with the russian's. The larger wheel makes all the difference. I'm definately going to get that rubber stuff though. It should add grip and make the wheel larger.

Good question. I am concerned about that too. I have just ordered the winter battle set so it will probably be a while before I wear mine out. However it does concern me that there seems to be no after-market support from Konami. The tanks are expensive enough that people will try to keep them running rather than scrap them when parts wear out.
Remember to keep the tanks away from sunlight - the UV light will harm the rubber over time.
