ok first i got a zipzap and well i had fun with it for a week or two until i could not get it to go any faster. it steered pretty well but just didnt have enough horsepower for my liking.
so i found a cheezy "thor" bit clone for 14$ and the thing is fast as hell but doesnt steer or go straight for nothin. after a few weeks of messin with both and not havin a workin car that i liked i decided to get another one. 14$ again and well lets start with the steering. it steers as good as my zipzap did and well lets say that this thing flies on carpet that the zipzap would not even run on. if i run it into reverse and then throw into fwd the front end jumps into the air. on wood floors i can do really quick and perfect 180degree turns as well as power slides. then i dropped the motor from the cheapo clone and it is noticably faster than the stock motor(looks identical to the 21.5 zz motor)
they are "bullet racers" with Super Racing on the package. the body style is better than zipzaps or microsizers and heck it was 5 bucks cheaper. anyone in pennsylvania with a zipzap that wantsa race hit me up.
Where did you find the Thor racer? I found some "motorworks" clone at my local Wally World. The car is fast as hell, but the steering sucks. Absolutely no control. And the bodies are pretty cheesy too. I'm thinking about using it for parts and modding the 3 AAA stand alone charger to charge my zip. The antenna for the remote is also longer, so I'm thinking about putting it into my zip controller.
Oh, yeah. The "motorworks cars were like $13.00 and they also had motorcycles. They are fast too but don't even think about turning them. It'll do some awesome donuts though.
the thor steers horribly but my super racing is pretty nice. it turns as good as a zz but is a lot lot faster. i put the zz green gear and axle on it and it is really really quick off the gun. it rides on pretty thick carpet.
it is pretty much a bit rip off but it is made well. 14$ it comes in a plastic dome.
