How do Boost cars work?
Well thats the question really. How do the boosted bits work? I'm a hardcore newb and just got into this stuff yesterday. Can you boost regular bits or do u need to buy a boosted car and controller?

???
could I just buy a B2.2 motor and put it in any Bit car, would the boost controller work on it? Or is it the car and not the motor?

Boost is on the PCB of the car not the motor. Basically, when you press the button, it bypasses a series of resistors (or a single resistor) that is cutting down voltage to the motor and restricting it.

A booster car is similar to full scale cars with Nitrous Oxide installed in them. With the 4 channel remote, you press the foward button like you would normally do, and when you want to get an instantanious boost (like down a straightaway) you press a button on your controller. The bad thing is that "normal" speed on the booster cars is much slower than the "normal" speed on normal Bits.

You don't necessarily need the 4 channel controller.
Because there are some bit kits that include a booster controller (Auto Modellista, Fairlady 350Z)
As NorCalCoug said the chassis must have the booster option.
So even if you have a 4channel controller and you press the booster button doesn't mean that every car will get boosted. Only the cars that support this option will take advantage of this.
And the other thing is that when you press the booster button will not give you an instantanious boost.
But while you normaly press the forward/reverse button you must also keep the booster button pressed to give full speed to your car.
Thats it.

The 4-ch remotes do not work with all Bitcharges. I've tried using it with one of the 1st generation bits and they do not work at all. There is a sticker that says 4-ch compatable on the box of the ones that will work with the boost controller. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that the car will boost when you press down on the button, only the boost cars will have this function.

perhaps we should have this question in the FAQ about the boosters and the 4 channel remote too

Booster and 4ch controller
I have a 45mhz booster chassis and the 4ch controller.
On the back of the controller there is a selector switch (C * B * A)
These are my findings on each setting.
- tested using a 2.2 motor.
C = Full Speed, no boost
B = Reduced Speed(better control), full speed boost
A = NOT A DAMN THING, no GO!
Since I can't read the controller or booster manuals, I have no idea what setting A is for.....maybe its some un-used feature yet to be implemented? anyone know?

On my NSX-R chassis 27mhz(NON-booster) I can't control it in any setting except setting "A" on the 4ch controller.
Perhaps it's for non-booster chassis.

i love the boost function are there any others coming out that will have this function besides Auto Modellista and Fairlady Z. I dont like the 4 ch. remote cuz i think it looks dumb and i want 4 conts so i can race 4 boosted cars .
