The proof that clones aren't to bad!!!!!
Just got a call from uncle about his bit char-g which he modded up! This is a mini mover clone char-g. He added a 3.0 motor and full size wheel mod. Resoldered all the wires on the PCB for better contacts. He lightened the chassis as much as he can. He improved turning radius pretty good to!!! His car even tracks STRAIGHT!!!!! This is a CLONE CAR!!! Now the big thing........he was able to BEAT A BOOSTER CAR IN A DRAG RACE!!!!!! Just some proof to show that not all clones are bad.......

yes, for the most part, your car is only as good as your tuning and driving skills. If there was a poorly tuned bit char-g and an amazingly well-tuned..say...bensu, the bensu would probably win.
quack quack, out!

I think the main point is the way they perform out of the box. A real BC-G/MS has much higher build quality than a clone. If you take the clone and spend a few hours bringing it up to TOMY spec, then yes, it will probably be as good.

I have 3 of those panther clones, all 3 run great, track staight, and have an even turning radius in both directions. Thats straight out of the box(dome, bullet?)
The Panthers have a round transmitter thats identical to the Bensu clone, yet the chassis of the Panther is very comparable in quality to the Tomy Bit/Microsizer. If anybody does get a clone I highly recommend panthers, plus all parts are completely compatible with Bit/Microsizer upgrades. In no way is the Panther a Bensu with a different name!

I just did a triple battery mod on my Panther, something tells me I could keep up with a bit
Anyways, there was really only one thing I didnt like about the Panthers (mine at least) and that was the tires didn turn very far. So I just gound out the side of the chassis with a dremel where the knuckles turn into the chassis and now it works great!!
Did that make any sense??

what set up did the booster machine have? if it had stock motor 2.2, it might loose to a 3.0. but if they're both using 3.0, i don't see how the booster could loose..its not possible. unless he didn't finish the race

My modded 3.0 Bit chassis is like exactly the same speed as my 3.0 stock booster. Using the Orange gear sets on both.
but it is dremeled out for less weight, and has a 110mah battery from a clone. That's all though.
The modded on still doesnt track well enough for a full 22' run though. The booster goes almost perfectly straight in the 22' run.

Booster do not increase speed.......they just pump low current to the motor when the boost is off then when the boost is switched the current is pumped normally giving the car the reagular speed of the motor.....there really is no increase of speeds in a booster car.......

I have all 4 boosted and 8 Bits regular. A few Micro Qs and a Zipzap. I don't get faster speeds with a booster car than I do with a regular car. Make sure that there is no binding. Use Chapstick or graphite to lube the gears. Make sure that the axle is straight and smooth. (An eraser works here) I'll have to scope a car. I see a long term project here. Oh, my head! Why don't I stay out of these things? Micro dynamometers, torque meters, etc. A test jack in the car. BAE

I have an LXX clone, I freakin' love it. Quality seems to be up to par with Tomy, and it's way faster out of the box. Comes with a 3.0 motor and NiMH battery and only costs $9.00. Sounds good to me.
