question about 2 cellmod

ive been reading about the 2 cellmod, my question is why do u not have the negative side of the 1st battery not touching the negative post, only the negative soldered wire from the 2nd battery, does it even matter?

it wont work if you add the second batt in to the post, some one said it would but i could never get it to for me

the battery post or terminal or just the little metal tab that the battery touches, it wont work if you just add the second battery in with the stock one as is it has to be rewired
