Digitally proportional what? They have proportional throttle, but an on/off brake. I use one in my Micro RS4 and it works very well.

Oh, one thing I have noticed recently with my C-30 is that the throttle has a startlingly few number of motor steps! I was playing with the throttle and there are about 20! AHH!!! It works fine for bashing and non-serious racing. But if you are going to get serious about racing, you would need something like a Quantum or a Spy.

i use the ipd racing race-20 which is most probably an airplane esc converted for a car.
