How substantial is dNano?

I have a foam mat track setup in my computer room and when I run the Mini Z's they don't really hop to make me lose control when going over the mat joints that are not 100% flush. Will dNano hop and change directions when going over small bumps like that?

Hello!

I tested mine on my new mini96 track and yes, it's much more sensitive to the bumps on the track.

But I would say, make them as plane as you can, and in worth case, get the gyro and the Dnano should work fine on your track.
Perhaps a little traction roll if you're rough on the steering at the time the car pass the bump but if you drive smoothly, there won't be trouble.

I finally have the car!! I am very impressed with the smooth and precise performance of dNano and 2.4ghz Tx. I have had the junctions of the foam mats taped with masking tape for a week or so for my Mini Z's, and it is smooth enough even for the dNano. The car is lighter than I imagined and it is very delicate. But boy oh boy, is it fast!!! The car understeers and I probably need stickier front tires. Wow... I love it!

Brake! You could try increasing your steering travel/balance and obviously stickier tires would help too.

Yes, I use the brake for now. but a little more bite up front will make it faster. I love it!

looks like you're running into some of the same issues we did on our initial designs... dnano runs best on a smooth surface with no breaks. mini-z is no upset by jigsaw joints at all. masking tape worked well for us to smooth things out for dnano but u don't want that to make or break things in a race.
