Cool Z-cars any good??

Okay, I went to the mall and to be honest wanted a Zipzap but all the Radio Shacks in my area were out. The hobby store I thought only had the Microsizers but they wanted $40 for 'em...a little too expensive for me since I'm not sure how much of a hobby this will be for me. So I went to the Discovery store and found Z-cars by Atomic Toys...they look just like the Microsizers and appear to use the same or similar engines, mine came with a 2.2v and there are 2.6 and 3.0 options I think. I got home and found Im all out of AAA batteries! So are these things any good?? Are they compatible with Microsizers??
