Question Quick motor question

got 2 new xmods (titan and f150) Modding the titan out so i will post pics later but I got an atomic can and want to wind my own arm for monster torque so which way to go? say 40 turns of light gauge wire or 25 of heavy
also 40 light=less amps
25 light or heavy=high right
Sorry to be so dumb but trying to keep up with all this stuff is a pain lol
also experimenting with winding one time 20 turns left rotation (each arm ofcourse)20 right any ideas there?
thank you all for all the help this far but i had to make my first true post about something good lol
Cell Modder Major Dobson out

P.S. I am also using silver brushes and communicator.

Umm... if you want to go lower than 40ish turns, you're looking to fry some FETs. Here are the basics:

Less turns=higher rpm=higher current draw
More turns=higher torque=less current draw

Also, with the 20 turns one way and 20 the other, the magnetic fields of different directions will cancel, it will not work.

For the truck, You're going to need some more torque than with the cars, especially if they have 4wd. If you are looking for more speed, I would splice in two cells and run 6 on a stock motor.

How about the atomic can with neos + stage two arm?
Or the arm out of a tamiya torque tuned motor?
Or someone suggest an arm from some toy I can get(like the little belt driven 4x4 rock crusher toys at wally world)
oh and i found out the hard way about the 20/20 just a few mins ago lol

Does this atomic can have bearings in it? If so, it will speed up a stage 2 armature because it will have less physical resistance.

Neo magnets will give you more torque, but they also drop the top speed compared to the regular magnets. If you need more torque for your truck, neos are a good way to go.

3x3 Stacked FETs with 6 cells/lipo and an atomic can motor with neos and around 35 turns would probably be a pretty quick set up. I think a triple stack of FETs would be enough for that motor.

yeah its a bb can, but i was wanting slooooooooooowwwwwww so i was gonna use a 50 turn arm (unwound an arm from the belted crusher and counted 50 wraps) but i also thought that was low amps so why the FET upgrade?

Oh, for slow and torquey, put neo's in your can with a stage 1 armature. I think they have around 120ish turns. That would give you lots of torque.

I'm sorry, I thought you wanted to go speed wise... typically the atomic cans are used for speed based motors that generate a lot of heat.

oh ok i just wanted to use that can because it looks soo darn cool and its bb so less binding; and is that a gen 1 arm or evo or are they the same?

just read on the motor winding thread a s1 was 85 turns, still high though
