Metal Cup Joints For Hella Cheap
dont wanna pay a ridiculous 40$ for a set of metal cup joints? i didnt either, so here at custom engineering ive developed my own metal cup joints however unlike the rest of the money hungry savages out there ill show you how to make em yourself...
what you need,
a dremel with carving, grinding and cutting bits. pliars (the screws get very hot). a cup of water (to quickly cool off screws) and 4 4.0X40 mm allen head screws. the screws costed me .49$ a piece!
also saftey glasses are a must!

start by holding a screw with your pliars and then cut down the wall of the allen head, to make life easy use the edges of the hexagon as your guide.

next switch to a sphereical carving bit (has a ball on the tip, and is the only bit that fits inside the hexagon and can still cut the tempored steal.) and start eating away the hexagon, you want it to be all round inside

use the grinding bit to grind away part of the shaft, only grind enough to fit a bearing around it tho..

now pat yourself on the back. you made some stellar metal cup joints and accuried some good dremel skills along the way. you also got an extra 38$ lying around that you can spend on you car, go nuts!
this honestly didnt take too long, prolly about 20 mintes to make the long rear cup joint, and 30 minutes for the mid front cup joint, but the extra 10 minutes were stopping for pics.
its 8pm now so i wanna finish up the last 2 cups them ima go and polish them reall nice and install them in my car. hopefully i have some more pics of car by 10pm, btw hope you all enjoyed positive feedback is welcome

hey Murcielago659, their plate type LSDs, its just a BB diff with the inards removed and filled with metal washers, tut on xmod sci.. their really cool, can be adjusted from no power transfer to fully locked, and real smooth
unfortunately i messed up one of the shafts, for the rear left i made the round hole too big so the dogbone moves around too much, lol i also tried to make 2 at once, and ended up melting the sphere bit. (was really cool it turned bright red and just came apart) i have another but its small so it gunna take a while to do. tomm i got h.w. and a car show so ill doubtedly finishup, hopefully thanksgiving weekend ill get the chassis back together along with the elctronics oppeational.. Sigh i hate set backs lol.
reason it will take so long is cause im still runnin washers and gotta pop in the bearings i have, im also redoing my rear wheels so they dont stick out the body as much..
o ya skurge, i meant a set as 4, cause ud want metal all around, sorry fr the confusion, but yea you can have a complete set for 2 bux and alotta work..
