Custom Heatsink on Gen1 with 2x2 FETs

I was sick of my car's fets running hot. While at the hobby store getting my mini-Z's, I also picked up some brass pieces. You can see here that I cut out the bottom chassis to fit in a larger thicker piece of brass. The two strips across the bottom are thin and what hold it in place. There is thermal conducting compound at all the interfaces.

I ran around with my plasma dash motor last night and it seemed to help quite a bit. That motor makes everything hot, motor, fets, batteries, etc...

It's a pretty easy install though... just cut off the plastic "vent" pattern on the bottom. Pretty cheap too... And the experienced guys understand how important heat dissipation is. I'd really like to avoid a FET stack melting off again.

It has the power switch bypass done. Have to get rid of that high resistance switch when you start doing big upgrades. Turning it on and off is a matter of taking a battery in or out... you can see the one battery isn't in all the way. That's off
