Yeah, no offence dude, but we already knew most of this stuff. I say we merge this thread with the "New Xmods" thread. I can't believe you didn't see it there.

they're 10 bucks more. ill be buying one of these before i go for the disgustingly overpriced 4wd miniz. the mini z battery configuration blows chunks compared to this.

This new chassis to me looks like it is better at planting those rear tires. With the motors torque being put to use. My old Xmod was very good at lifting that one rear tire and just set there spinning it. The suspension on this new one look's better at keeping the tires straight up and down too. Also note the AWD upgrade kit has the center shafts in it, this I see as when you use the AWD the car is going to be slow as a snail. It is less parts to get moving for the rear drive only.
I have to also agree with the AWD Mini Z chassis weird battery arangement, but the upside here is it allows the motor to be put lower in the chassis.

what do you mean by saying that theres more parts to get moving. the mini z has the same setup. i actually think this was a much better idea than the previously stock setup. to run RWD, the shaft was still included, putting more strain on the motor. now you will only use the shaft in 4WD.

I was looking at the old Xmod to the new Xmod. Your old one has the center shaft for the motor to work against to get moving. The new one that shaft is in the AWD kit, so I guess with it not in the chassis the rear wheels get more power from the motor. The downside is you upgrade it to AWD it puts more load on the motor. Look at the AWD kit picture above, I am just guessing it isn't in the car or it wouldn't be in that kit. Also the wheel bearings/bushings on this new chassis is huge next to your older Xmods chassis, if you stick with the bushings you will have a ton of drag.
I didn't say anything about it to a Mini Z.

Oh, OK. I guess i just took when you said "slow as a snail" that the 4WD Mini-Z is superior in its shaft design. No Worries.
I for 1 am fairly impressed with the new design, no more negative camber when the rera suspension is depressed, the steering has been drastically improved. Supposedly, its better then the old Xmod w/ the tight turns upgrade. And, it looks like you'll be able to run a light kit, and an underglow simultaniously (not that I'll do that).

duwain, thanks. That "negative camber" on the older one has me thinking more lego set than RC car.

In some ways the new one is more upgradeable. I like the motor set with the separate pinion gears. This alone is way better than fussing with the brass pinions on the older upgrade sets. Also makes it way easier to slip a bearing case on the motor too.
One of my biggest question is the steering servo. I have seen posts saying it is improved. I'd like to know what all is improved? How tight? More responsive? It already look's like a better car "out of the box", with a few welcome additions "down the road" so to speak.
