yeah, i just used some styrene plastic for my frame extension, definately not as good looking as yours. could you possibly post a shot of the wire you have holding the rear driveshaft housing on, and one of your longer driveshaft? thanks.

basically, the wire is a paperclip bent to hold the shaft and shaft support together where the screw once went. The shaft is just a ZZMT central shaft, replacing the small one coming from the axle ball. Here's a pic, sorry for the horrible clarity.

The ZZMT shaft has gears on both ends. Do you remove those gears first? I need more info! Thanks...

yes, you need to remove the gears. Than carefully remove the gear and the brass hex on the SSMT shaft and transfer it to the ZZMT shaft.

Thanks. That clears it up. Gives me an idea to make the extension even longer...just measure the shaft diameter and find something the same diameter but longer.

Exactly. Thats what I did, but the SSMT shaft was the longest thing I could find laying around. If you find something else, let us know

I got the parts for my shaft mod, and cut them to size. I just haven't put it all together yet. I've been busy working on my Mini-Z Monster 4WD mod...
I used square brass tubing, 3/32" I believe...whatever fits over the round part of the shaft and the other end gets the corners filed so it fits the hex section on the plastic part. I also cut some round brass tubing, 1/8" I think, to go over that. It fits over the hex part of the shaft. All I need to do is find a piece of tubing that will go over the 1/8" round section and hold the plastic cover part together. I hope that all makes sense. I'll take some pics one of these days when I get it all together.
My goal is to also make a new chassis that fits around the existing chassis, with axle covers drilled and tapped for new ball joints and better shocks.
For the cost of the SS Monster, the quality of the transmission parts is quite good. And it's fairly easy to mod.
