AtomicMods FatBoy
Has anyone tried out the new AtomicMods Fatboy motor? I just ordered one (was gonna get 3 hi-perf motors and build a 4th, and I will now have a fatboy, nml ssv3, and about half the parts of custom motor) but was curious if anyone had any early experiences, as I am probably a few weeks from performance testing (I need to build a new battery holder holder for my lith kit before running with hi-power and would prefer to do my perf tests with my bolt-on turbo cartridge rather than my "medusa" one with wires going everywhere for balance reasons).
UPDATE: Looking at his speed comparison , he's got that thing clocking in at 43.5 mph, which is pretty damn good. But then, he's got the fastest competitor (NML stage 11, which may or may not be the same as my SSv3) only at 29.5. The thing can supposedly handle high voltages without frying, but I'm not sure I want to run risky tests like on either motor and just feed 'em 8.4 and be happy (although I build all my battery harnesses to be expandable for extra cells, so I *could* throw on another lith or two pretty fast)

would you by any chance have the pn racing anima motor? there is evidence to believe that that motor is pretty much a relabeled anima motor sold by pn for almost 2/3rd of the price.i wish that somone could purchase both motors and compare things to see if they were the same motors.

Well, the motor so far has been a disappointment. I checked my mailbox, and the thing was there, but instead of a FatBoy, it was a SuperStock 130, so now I have to see about sending it back to get a FatBoy, assuming they still in stock.
But it did motivate me to cut the heatsink assembly for the turbo. I've still got to cut holes and bend the metal (biggest challenge), but cutting was the 2nd most difficult part.

I tested the Anima for my site www.pimpmymod.com and thought it would be faster. I will try to get the Atomicmod motor and compare.

I'm going to ultimately do some voltage tests on the Fatboy to see how much lithium it can handle. I'm building 2 v2.2 turbo housings, and 1 is a 10v+ one. I'm gonna find the breaking point for circuit racing with that motor, as it's a good deal at $40 with a decent supply when I blow it out. I'd like to really push my NML SSv3 to its limits, but I don't see them for sale anymore, and it's almost twice as expensive as the FB. I'm also curious how it compares to the NML stage 11. I had trouble finding info comparing the two, and I can't tell if they're the same motor or one is slightly or significantly better than the other.
PS: I've also decided to take one of these motors and run it and a fully aluminum-titanium XMODS full speed into a wall or curb for a collision test. I factored in the cost of what would likely get destroyed vs. the information I could get at really seeing what one of these vehicles can take, and I decided I have enough spare parts to account for whatever gets trashed.
