Wtf?!?!?!!
I just got the bearings from RS and one of them won't fit over the plastic at the end or the long rear axle. This ticks me off cuz i have 2 use the bushings on that part of the axle on both sides or it will spin all over the place.

I had that happen just the other day. Only I was using this shop's bearings and it was my front U-shaft, but it broke as I was sliding the bearing onto it. The other shaft fit fine, I think some parts that plastic end is thicker than others. I do not think the cause was the bearings themselves, because the same bearing fit the other shaft fine.

Hmm, how often does this happen? If its a problem that comes around often, i might stray away from getting bearings, or can you dremel the shaft down to make it fit?

I've put bearings in four different cars now, and have not had this problem. It's definitely not the bearing's fault, it's more likely the cars themselves are a bit anomolous.

i think i got it
the bearings hang up on the transition between the metal axle and the plasic cup thing. i think sanding the edge down will get it on the rest of the way.

They were Radio Shack bearings, weren't they? I tell everyone those are junk, and no one listens to me.

yea they truly are my car with the rs ones makes a metaly sound, but the other one with aftermarket bearings sounds smooth... plus they were much cheaper! also the bearings are a tighter fit the less time you keep your bushings in so if you run the bushings for awileyou might be able to fit them later
