Having run the search engine on "controller antenna" without results, I'll submit this mod which definitely works on the ZZ MT controller, and looks like it will work on the ZZ and ZZ SE controllers as well.

For those who crave long antennas, replace the stock one with Radio Shack part 270-1408B, "Replacement Telescoping Antenna." Collapsed, it extends about 12 inches from the controller. Extended, you get six feet with which to play. Somewhere in those five feet you should find an effective length. If nothing else, you can intimidate the competition with your new antenna!
