You will probably have less range If you don't put the antenna going out of the car, at least put one inside of the shell, so you can get more range. If you can't strip anything you have to solder, and I don't have any experience with soldering so don't ask me about solder. But you really should put an antenna coming out of the car If you want maxumum range.
