I dunno about the 10 bucks part, but it's not a bad kit. The tires are ABS plastic, if I'm not mistaken. It makes it pretty easy to drift, but be prepared to counter steer a good bit. I can drift on carpet w/ it. I got a decent drift all the way across the length of my garage( ~15 feet) without too much effort. It is a bit of the cheap way out, but I'd recommend it if you havent really learned how to use it yet. Tile/hardwood/probably laminate flooring are out, theyre too slick. Carpet, without a boost from your foot, just allows freewheeling. Concrete is the recommended surface from me.

i found that if you just wanna drift on some hardware floors that taping the tires works just fine. you can use black electrical tape or if you want to really slide use clear scotch tape.

I'd say it's pretty pointless.
I've made my own "drift wheels" before these came out.

If you dont have AWD, that's why. Even the instructions say you should have AWD to use it The ass end just farts out and you're left with the front tires still gripping.

I made my own set a few months ago by dipping the tires in super glue and letting it dry.
Dosn't last as long as PVC or ABS but does a good job.

i might just get this kit for the wheels lol.. how slippery/grippy are these tires? i wanna try them out as fronts on my rwd drifter. (oversteer/understeer technique) basically understeers, but oversteers with throttle!
are the wheels any different from the normal ones?

You can get those 5Zigen wheels in the Issue #2 wheel kit.
The tires are ABS plastic last long, but are only good for slow show drifting. They kinda tend to slide in straights. (keep the throttle low)

Drift very realistically on RCP tracks.
This kit is awesome on either side of a RCP track. RCP tracks, for those that don't know, have two sides, one for drifting and one for more traction.
Both sides work well, but the "drift" side of the track has a very realistic feel to it with this set of tires and wheels. However they are too slick if you have upgraded your car past the radio shack upgrades.

I like the way you stole Tamiya's beginner's r/c guide.
