I took my DTM-SP out after putting it away "forever" ago. Almost immediately I was reminded of how hard it was to keep the rear end planted. I remembered all the gear combos, diff adjustments, and tire additives that I tried in hopes of keeping the rear end from coming around. Some things helped and I learned to how to drive it, but the car just never felt "glued".
Well, that all changed tonight. Just for fun, I decided to set up the car to run backwards, essentially making it a front wheel drive with rear wheel steering. All I can say is, now it handles like a dream. The car feels rock solid and even pushes nicely through turns. And as hard as I tried, the car never spun out.
I'm sure you've all messed with driving car in reverse, but set it up as if it were supposed to be that way and see what you think. I know it doesn't seem right, but after driving it like this I think it'll be hard to back...or would that be forward?
