Zz Vs Zzse
Alright, I want answers.
I hear so much bad about the ZZ SEs that it makes me want to cry... propo steering in a car that size is amazing but if you only get one step to the left then WTF are you going to call propo? It's sad. So I want to know is the SE even worth the extra money? If it doesn't work the way that it says it does then shouldn't I just stick with the origional? I have been looking at the 7/7 steering mod and am wondering if I got an SE and did that mod if it would be a better value but that is a lot of extra work for something that should work that way OUT OF THE BOX! It pisses me off...
hit me back with some opinions,
thanks people!

The mod is for people that have the older model SEs, the newer generation models are ‘fixed’. Refer to this thread:
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=19779
Now, is the SE worth the extra money? At $15 each for what you get (especially if you buy the new versions with fixed steering) is it REALLY that hard to figure out?

well... I live in Canada and they are $40 here and we have the older verions just arriving... so, it will be a while before we get new fixed ones.... so that is sad... i'm just wondering with the older faulty models if it is still worth the extra $10 canadian to get the SE over the origional... I guess your answer is a strong yes.

Well, that's a different story then. If you're stuck with the older models AND having to pay more money?
...Then it's not a strong yes anymore, matter of fact I drop it to a 'maybe'.
No friends/family in the States to send you a newer SE?

trust me do not pay 40 dollers for a SE. have someone ship it to you, if i was over 28 and could drive, i would do it for free, al long as you paid shipping and it would be about 15-20 dollers cheaper, trust me ebay or find someone.

I'm in Canada too and i was thinking about getting another SE. I was at an RS the other day and according to Namuna's FAQ, you should stick with the 02A04 codes on the bottom of the box, but I found that most of them are in the range of 05A... something (sorry I didnt pay much attention to the full code). So what I'm trying to say is that the SE's we have in Canada are either a newer version than the 02A04's or these codes numbers aren't applicable to both Canadian and American products. It IS pretty expensive here to get an SE for 40 bucks, since one of my ZZ's (an RX-7) was purchased from the States in Seattle for $10 american (I live in Vancouver, 2 hours from Seattle). I would suggest you find a friend in the states to get it for you, or ebay.. is the other solution if ur willing to wait =p.

i'm sure that i've heard the numbers are applicable... that first number is just the month, so it could be 5th month of 03 in which case they are not great models... I don't know... going to check out RS early this week... maybe even this weekend and tell you what we have here.

05a04
i have three 05a04 and three believe it or not 04a04 all i believe are built in 2004. actually i started buying my cars consisting of new and old stock unknowingly in may 2004. and would consider SE's fine to buy, "SE's only however ", we are past who has what pcb as we all have the same right now until there becomes a new one, and build #'s are not the things to be looking for at this point. old product is almost sold i think, for sure in most high volume stores. my first 04a04 initial d had three wires from the steering controll box. go to a high volume store and grab what you like. mod ther crap out of it and have fun. isnt that the point.
