Black Sky Project
I have decided to hop up my week old black Skyline, and figured I would capture the moments on film...
Enjoy...
First, the parts: AWD, Li-Ions, bearings, Stage2 or 180S? Hmmm...I did the wiring upgrades myself. You can buy the Deans connectors online for around $1.40 per pair.

Second, I decided to go with the Stage2 9-tooth engine. I have an AtomicMods 180S Hi-Torque as seen in the pic above, but it is an 11-tooth. This car is planned for short tracks...I may switch it out later...who knows?

Work of art?? Jeez...thanks! Just some soldering, that's all. And some patience. I decided to learn how to make the wiring upgrades myself. I couldn't see paying $8-$10 for two little pieces of wire with a Deans connector on the end. Maybe I sould start selling them, too. LOL
I bought the Li-Ions from AtomicMods and do the wiring on those, too. Most of this stuff is pretty easy, but I have messed up some cars learning how. I should finish the car this week. I will post some more pics when I finish.

I bought the 18 guage wire at a local electronics parts outlet...they had some that was pretty flexible.
The Deans connectors I bought online for $1.40 per pair.

You might find wire here, too. I didnt check. The Deans connectors come with the heat shrink, too. I used a little larger diameter heat shrink on the batteries to cover the battery connects, etc.

Obviously, the bottom...I mounted the Li-Ions up a little higher than my other Skyline...they interfered with the body a little. This time, the Li-Ions sit around the middle of the doors or so. The bottom of the body does not protrude at all. I like it.

Went with AWD...my first time firing it up and testing it, I broke the AWD pinion coming off of the driveshaft. It took out 2-3 teeth! I will have to replace that one.

And the finished product?? I have some wheels I am painting right now for it...waiting to dry... And, I am still trying to find the black body kit upgrade...oh, well, finished for now.
