i know this isnt the appropriate place for questions so i apoligize, but when u airbrush and you mix a custom paint (like a metallic red with pearl) how do you store the paint if you mixxed too much, or want to put a second coat later on.. also when airbrushing how many coast do u use for a solid color? thnx a bunch,
- (random) i just unmasked my supra project and applied graphics.. i must say its my first good paint job, the colors a surprise and she'll b done in a week once clear coats is done, cant wait to show her off

paint
Well,i have a few extra small glass jars that i keep paint that ive already mixed stored in.As long as you keep a lid on thats sealed pretty good,it should last a while. If it gets a little hard just thin it a little bit when you spray it again. As far as # of coats, its really a preference of how durable/shiny you want it i guess.I used about 5 coats of black, then 2-3 of the orange and yellow, and about 4 of clear.Just do a few thin coats at a time,it goes on much better.Dont try to cover the piece all at once.Alot of the finish is in the prep too, just make sure the car is real nice and smooth, and clean, dust it lightly with the first couple coats, just enough to see the color, then you can lay it on just a little thicker after that.If you want it really slick, get 4-5 coats of paint, let it sit for a day or 2,then lightly wet sand it with real fine sandpaper, then put 4 or 5 coats of clear on it.Should look glassy.I put a fairly quick job on the vette, but it was smooth and clean.Dont let it dry outside either, too cold.Im going to paint my 65 stang black with silver stripes, and my other sons nsx somwthing loud and brighjt.Maybe a lime green with some black or something. Most of all dude just take your time, dont rush it.Hope this helps. If you have another ? just ask me.
