How common are fried electronics?
I lost reception further than 5 fet away today. I searched and saw that this is a somewhat common thing to happen, and my choices were to either replace some tiny part of the PCB or exchange it for a new one.
Seeing as how I had only had it two days or so, I brough it back to RS to exchange. I spent 1/2 an hour between swapping crystals then ending up pulling off all my hopups and taking a new chassis home with me. I immediately reinstalled my stuff, and took it outside to test run it.
I ran about 1 minute, and I lost all throttle response. I went over, picked it up and saw a red glow coming from underneath. This is rediculous, this car was literaaly not run for two minutes before the board fried on me.
Is that that common? This is very frustrating, to say the least.
Stage 2, 8 tooth and shocks are the only hop-ups, running on rechargeable batteries.
If I trade it in again, should I expect more problems?
