38 MPH 6 cell xmod
I just got my Tamiya speed checker in today . Man I was kinda surprised how fast my Skyline was at first I was getting 31MPH with the all wheel drive Its been long since I driven RWD. I was just curious and it hit 38MPH 62km/h didnt know it made a big difference it was only done with 6 cells 7.2 v fet board team orion 180 stock motor, motor hasnt been modified yet gear ratio was low and acceleration is a little bit slow It reached top speed at about 50 ft or more. Its time for me to add more cells or even go to the next level and ditch the nickel metal batteries. Stock xmod out the box only hit 10MPH 17km/h

hit 41MPH last night after I install regulator didnt add any more batteries kept it at 6 cell so I gained more power post pic soon video when I hit 60MPH. It should be really easy since Im hitting 41MPH at only 7.2v now if I double that ,cant wait.

Just hit 50MPH 10 cells at 12v
Definitly time for power upgrade. The fets got so hot the shrink wrap melted off I touched the heat sink like a dummy now I got a L shape branded on my finger. It seems that Im gaining 5 more miles on every 2 cells 8 45mph 10 50mph lets just say 12 55mph 14 60mph 16.8v If I go for it and I achieve 60mph Ill have video of it in action. need li-on 10 cell want fit.

sorry to burst ur bubble... but the rear wheeles have to sit between those two drums , and ur hand shouldnt touch any part of the car while it running... ( it reduces the weight thus makes the car go faster , so make sure the xmod is sitting correctly on the speedchecker and all 4 wheel are making contact with and only with the 6 drums...

hands free but it looks like I do have to retest . All 4 wheels were on 4 drums not the rear last 2 test soon.

Still got the same results so it didnt make any difference if I had it on 4 drums or 6 and plus with the batteries sadle bagging on top of the chassis there should be plenty of weight for friction vs li-on being installed for real action. Later Im gonna see what 14.4v will do I not sure how many mAh this thing can handle Im pretty sure Im in the danger zone.

rob, it a 15 turn big gauge, neo, bb plasma dash. trust me guys this is not that great, land speed acceleration is as of a S2 xmod. takes like 2 second before it starts to get up. this whould do alot better with a 30 turn motor

Im about to burst yours How are you bursting anything by showing me what somebody else is doing?
I just got my speed checker in Im just trying to have fun with it. Even if cant hit 50MPH or whatever on the ground which I believe it could at least I can say I did it and it hit 50MPH on a speed checker and not show someone else the next persons work instead of my own.pop. I think I just burst another bubble.
Its a blue bevel gear a Robinson racing pinion from tower hobbies

Thanks. I just wanted to show you some other ideas for your project. The setup on ezboards has some distinct disadvantages, but it's really fast. How many teeth is your pinion?

My bad I thought you was trying to hate like lil buddy was Its a 48 pitch 32 teeth pinion these are the heavy ones they have the light weight aluminum for $5 a piece Im trying to get the perfect gearing setup for top speed and acceleration in 50ft. before I buy one If I was to modify this motor it will hit 50 with no problems dont want to tear it apart yet cause its the only Orion I got with the 16 teeth pinion I believe hit 35MPH on the ground you dont have to question the speed cause it shoots like a rocket
Itll probally take a hour or two before a plasma dash will get this pinion to spin
